Revolutionizing the HoReCa industry

Gustochef was set up in 2018 by a group of people with thirty years’ experience in the restaurant business. All inspired by chef Michele Sabbadini’s passion for gourmet cuisine. It was he who developed this revolutionary way of preparing ready meals and registered his recipes in 2016.

After many years of research, development, experimentation and investment, he created a product line that was unique in terms of its quality, the use of the finest raw materials and a guaranteed level of food safety. All our dishes are produced in our northern Italian plant in Tolmezzo (UD) for distribution to the hospitality industry in both Italy and the rest of Europe.

The facility covers 2000 square meters and has a production capacity of 10.000 kg per day.

Daniele Strizzolo – CEO
After starting out in the family construction firm, in 1986 Daniele became involved in the new and rapidly growing fast food industry, opening his first franchise restaurant in Trieste and later more outlets in and around Udine. In September 2018 he became a partner in Gustochef through the holding company Italiana Ristorazione, of which he is chief executive.

Paolo Strizzolo – Director of Operations
With over 20 years’ experience in the operational management of a group of restaurants in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Paolo was the perfect fit to become Gustochef’s director of operations. His experience extends beyond the hospitality sector, and includes positions as controller and plant manager in construction, the tanning industry and community services.

Michele Sabbadini – Production Manager
Born into a family of restaurant owners and food retailers, Michele became fascinated by the application of innovative technologies in food preparation. He dreamt of improving people’s diets through the preparation of food that maintains the organoleptic and nutritional quality of the ingredients. And he fulfilled his dream through the development and patenting of an industrial process combining sous vide cooking and high pressure processing (HPP).

Stefano Buiani – Member of the Board
Entrepreneur and inventor, Stefano is passionate about technology and was one of the first people in Italy to get involved in photovoltaics and this included patenting a system where photovoltaic panels were coupled with solar heating units. His long-established company deals in industrial HVAC systems and renewable energy.

Matteo Squizzato – Member of the Board
Matteo has always been enthusiastic about science and innovation and after completing his education in the technical sphere he became involved in start-ups, where his goal is to find real, practical solutions to existing problems. Lean design and lateral thinking are among the skills he brings to Gustochef
